FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Edit

Different people experience hypnosis in different ways. Most people feel very calm, comfortable, peaceful and relaxed. Those who meditate experience a similar physical experience. Some people don’t feel any difference at all from their awake state. Often clients are surprised with how aware they feel during hypnosis. Usually clients feel refreshed after a hypnotherapy session.

Edit

Because it works!  Many medical professionals, psychologists, counselors and therapists have turned to hypnotherapy because they are realizing traditional methods often fail.

Edit

The amount of sessions will vary with each individual.  Remember, this is therapy to create your desired change. It depends on what your goals  are, your mindset, and how much resistance you are holding on to. In most cases, clients will see results in 1-3 sessions. I always recommend giving the process 3-6 sessions. Weight loss hypnosis is a longer process.

Edit

Absolutely not! The client is in control and will not do anything they do not want to do. In fact, the opposite is happening. You are gaining more control over your life. Hypnotherapy is a way of giving you more control, not less. You cannot be hypnotized unwillingly, and you cannot be prompted to do something that is outside of your moral code or say or reveal anything you do not want to. Therapeutic hypnosis is not what popular culture has depicted on stage and in entertainment. It is done by a professionally trained hypnotherapist.

Edit

Yes. Anyone can be hypnotized based on their suggestibility. Hypnosis is a very normal process that we all experience for a few minutes every day before we fall asleep. Anyone who is willing to relax and enjoy the benefits of hypnosis can be hypnotized. Anyone who can follow directions can be hypnotized.

Edit

No, you are able to come out of hypnosis at any time you wish. It is impossible to get “stuck.” All hypnotic states end, whether formally ended by the hypnotherapist or naturally by you.

Edit

In some cases, a medical referral may be required for issues of pain management and other medical-related issues. If you are working with another counseling professional already or have goals beyond self-improvement, then I may ask for a referral from the appropriate professional.

Edit

In both hypnosis and meditation, we are reaching a normal and natural higher state of awareness, a state that has been scientifically proven to enhance focus, attention, wellbeing, creativity and relaxation. The difference is that in meditation we are an observer while in hypnosis we can be actively engaged and are open to receiving positive suggestions that are in line with our goals and desires. Hypnosis will have a more specific goal and works much faster than any other therapy available. Meditation is a progressive practice that enhances general wellbeing over time and practice.

“From the first session with Aya, I knew she was a great therapist. As someone who visited numerous therapists from different disciplines, I immediately recognized how observant she is and how effective the sessions are. Her combined knowledge of body and mind, together with the safe, tranquil environment helped me make the changes I wanted and needed in my life. With a lot of sensitivity and zero judgment, Aya knew to ask the right questions to lead me in my journey of self healing. She has very effective tools and techniques that are easy to implement. Thank you Aya for helping me bring happiness, clarity and peace into my life. 🙏🏻”
